X-Mini: X-Men Illustrations by Marcio Hum

Brazilian artist, Marcio Hum, has been making wonderful illustrations of some of his favorite characters for years. Marvel Comics superheroes are some of his most common subjects, specifically the X-Men. His style typically looks like the X-Babies versions of the characters, or as he calls them the X-Mini. One of his best and most complete series involves showing the X-Men comic characters side by side with their movie counterparts.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Critique

SPOLIER WARNING!
It's important that I start this article off by saying I enjoyed X-Men: Days of Future Past quite a bit.  In fact, it is probably my favorite X-Men related movie to date.  The reason it is imperative that I state this is because I will spend the rest of this "critique" ripping the movie apart.  I promise it's out of love for these mutant characters. While X:DoFP is an extremely entertaining and enjoyable film, it is also riddled with issues that keep it from being the best comic book movie of all time.

This great X-Men movie timeline from MTV.com makes it a heck of a lot easier to keep track of what's going on in the films.  With 7 movies to keep track of, even the most hardcore X-Geek might have trouble remembering what's what.

A Gambit Movie!?

Report are pouring in all over the web that there will be a new X-Men solo movie starring the fan favorite character Gambit! Apparently he will be introduced in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, before striking out on his own. While this seems very exciting for all you X-Men fans, I'm not really sure if this is good news or bad news.  The man poised to play the Ragin' Cajun is... well,

Channing Tatum
This probably one of the few pictures of him on the web with a shirt on....
Not really the biggest Tatum fan, I couldn't even get through G.I. Joe. I didn't mind 21 Jump Street, it was kind of funny, but his cameo in This is The End was way funnier.  Well if you're a fan of his and you like Gambit than good for you, but I'm not quite sure I'm a fan of this casting.  Who knows, hopefully I'll be surprised and it'll turn out great.

Jump the Gun: X-Men Days Of Future Past

Jump the Gun is a semi-weekly article where two or more HiddenLevel contributors voice their gut reactions to upcoming movies. Their opinions are based solely on what trailers, press releases, and information is available around the internet, oh, and of course their own personal bias towards the source material. None of the opinions are based on actually having watched the movie. Each reviewer retains the right to change their view after having watched the movie, if they ever bother to do so. After all, who wants to waste their money on a movie that looks like it’s going to suck? Unless you’re into that kind of thing.

X-Men: Days of Future Past (May 23, 2014)

Brunpuppies - This is the big one.  The “everything and the kitchen sink” X-Men movie.  Uniting the original franchise and rebooted/prequel teams of mutants.  It looks like it’s going to be quite a spectacle.  I’m really very excited to see this one even though I’m not much of a fan of the new character designs.  They seem to be too embarassed to do anything other than black costumes even though we live in a world where the Avengers and Spider-Man movies use costumes that seemed ripped right out of the pages of the comics. Oh well, maybe next reboot we’ll get some color.  Either way, it’ll be great to see all of Marvel’s Merry Mutants together in one big blowout.

Verdict - Will be there on opening day.

Kevshiro -  So the first trailer I saw for this film really didn’t get me excited...at all.  Now that they’ve shown a bit more of the film, I’m a lot more excited to see this alternate X-men future come into play.  I’m wondering how are they able to get Wolverine into the past?  What can be fixed?  Is their time travel going to be able to fix anything?  Also, I’m kinda excited to see Halle Barry get stabbed too or at least that is what it looks like in the trailer.  Also, how did Charles Xavier get back into his body???

Verdict - I’ll be there in the theater.
SolidMike -  Something about the last X-men film didn’t excite me. For example, in the comics, Xavier became paralyzed by Satan breaking his back, not by Magento deflecting a bullet that ricochet off something and then hit him.
However, after seeing the trailer for “X-men: Days of Future Past”, I’m more confused than excited. While it does it seems like it’s going to be some serious action scenes in the film, I can’t help but to feel I’m going to be confuse the whole entire movie if I were to go see this film.

Verdict - Undecided

DarthSomething - I'm not the biggest X-Men fan as far as my readings in comics go, I just never got into them for some reason.  I did really enjoy the old trilogy of X-Men movies, and First Class is a really good movie so just the fact that so many people from all of those movies are involved is pretty exciting.  The trailers seem really good so far, the only worry I have is that it could get bogged down with so much going on. While there is the chance that will happen, I'm not worried too much about it.  I'll probably be content seeing all my favorite characters from past movies to care if it does.

Verdict - Definitely seeing it.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past "Wolverine Meets Beast" Video

I the new video clip from X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Wolverine and Beast meet for the first time, well it's the first time for Beast…not really for Wolverine.

This clip reminded me of this comic book panel and how awesome this run of the Astonishing X-Men was.
