Walgreens Star Wars Black Exclusive: Proto Boba Fett Announced

Hasbro and Walgreens are teaming up with yet another exclusive!  This time is figure from the 6" Star Wars Black line, Proto Boba Fett. This seems like a good choice to go with because it's not really a "must have" figure, so those without access to a Walgreen's aren't missing out too much, but it's still a really cool toy to have in a hardcore fan's collection.

Check out the information, promo photo, and screen-test video below:

Introducing the LEGO cast of Star Wars: Episode VII

I was a just a couple of months a go when the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII was announce.  Along with the announcement came this black and white photo of the primary cast doing their first script reading together:

Now Lego has recreated that photo in Lego form, to announce that they are gearing up to start designing sets for the new movie.  They took some liberties and put the original cast in some of their costume from the original trilogy. His is the image and what they had to say:

You've met the actors, now meet the Minifigure cast of Star Wars Episode VII!
It is both thrilling and surreal to start building in a couple of weeks, and we look forward to bringing this new world to life, once again (in 1/48 scale)!

Star Wars (Guardians of the Galaxy Style) Trailer

This Star Wars trailer, done in the style of the recent Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, is simply fantastic. It does an excellent job of highlighting the humor and fun of the original Star War Trilogy. The Usual Suspects have done an excellent job putting this together.

Sound is a must on this video. Enjoy!

E3 2014: Star Wars Battlefront Behind the scenes

Although we couldn't make it to E3 this year because of budget, travel expenses, vacation time, no money, weren't really invited, etc etc.  We're trying to post some of the videos that are most interesting. This is a cool behind the scenes look at the craft if making the new Star Wars Battlefront game.

MAFEX Darth Vader Star Wars Action Figure

We just did a report on the Joker from Medicom and now we have some new pictures of a MAFEX Darth Vader action figure.  Medicom has sent out a preview image of this fantastic looking figure.  The information we have is that it will be 170MM (6.5 inches) tall, have a poseable stand, extra hands, a cloth cape, removable helmet, and lightsaber.  This figure should be released in December for about 4,500 Yen (around $44 USD).  This should fit right in with Hasbo's 6" Star Wars Black figures.

Here at HiddenLevel.org, we know that a lot of our readers are big fans of action figures and other cool merchandise.  There is also something else we're all fans of...saving money!  When it comes to our hobbies, we all want to get the most for our money.  Our staff is constantly keeping an eye out for great deals and we want to be able to share those deals with you.  Below you will find some links to some products that are HiddenLevel approved.  If any of these products do interest you and you decide to purchase them, please be sure to use the link and a small portion of the sale will go towards supporting this site.  With your support, we can keep bringing you great original content, reviews, news, and links to cool stuff around the web.  Be sure to let us know what you think of your purchase.  We're fans of all of this stuff and we like to hear about it!

For the Star Wars Fans
Right now there a bunch of great Star Wars Black figures available for a cheaper price than you'll find in stores.  This series is some of the best stuff Hasbro is currently making.

For the Game of Thrones Fan
Like the Star Wars figures, these Game of Thrones action figures are much cheaper than what you would pay in stores.  A huge plus with these is that they are the same scale as the Star Wars Black and both lines were done by Gentle Giant so they look great together.  You can have a Luke Skywalker vs. Ned Stark face-off!

For the Fan of Japanese Imports
These are just some of the great action figures from over seas that are available for pre-order right now.  The Ultraman is by far one of the best versions of the figure ever made.  The Power Ranger figures are far superior to anything the U.S. has in toy stores. The Super Mario is a great representation of the iconic character and is very affordable for an import.  The Legend of Zelda: Link is just super cute.

Lego Star Wars Barrel Organ

This Lego Star Wars Barrel Organ is cooler than it sounds...

...and it sounds pretty cool.

The following info comes from DesignTaxi.com :

Back in 2012, a team of LEGO builders based in Germany, including Lego Certified Professional Rene Hoffmeister, built a Star Wars barrel organ in honor of the release of Star Wars Episode I in 3D.
Now permanently installed at LEGOLAND Germany, this fascinating barrel translates 20,000 intricately arranged LEGO bricks to music when manually rotated.
According to team member, Lorenz Lnggrtnr, the team translated the iconic Star Wars theme music into a matrix, which was the construction blueprint for the organ.
Following which, they built four Star Wars worlds—Hoth, Tatooine, Endor and the Death Star—on to the barrel, according to the musical composition.
The result of their efforts means that every time the organ is turned, the bricks touch mechanical sensors, striking the keys of a built-in keyboard and play the Star Wars Main Theme.

Check out the videos and pictures of this thing, it's incredible!

Custom Action: Star Wars Shadowtrooper

I knew as soon as a bought a few extra Star Wars Black Series Sandtroopers (at a great Amazon price of only $12 each) that I was going to have to make one of them into some sort of custom.  I figured the quickest and easy one would be one of my personal favorites, a Shadowtrooper.  Nothing too tricky here, I just washed the figure, painted the whole thing gloss black, and applied some silver to the helmet using a silver paint pen.  It was really quick to do and the results are great in person, but photographing black is still pretty tricky for me.
-Brunpuppies

Shadowtroopers were a branch of Imperial shock troopers deployed during the Rise of the Empire era. Shadow Trooper units were deployed on various operations under the command of an Emperor's Shadow Guard. A number of them were used in various skirmishes against Galen Marek. Shadow Trooper armor was laced with durasteel fibers  unlike the stygian-triprismatic polymer material used in the production of the shadow stormtrooper armor.

Title for Star Wars: Episode VII?

Star Wars Episode VII.  We learned who the new cast is (here it is in case you missed it, Star Wars Episode VII Cast).  The movie now apparently has a title according to multiple sources, and the next installment in the series will be...

Now whether this is will actually be the title or if it just the project name while it's being filmed I don't know.  If this is the title, my guess is that it's a direct reference to the Old Republic and the Sith Empire, or at least to a time when the Sith were quite powerful and numerous.  Which to me makes sense considering the Sith were "destroyed" when Vader killed the Emperor and came back to the light side of the Force.  But the Jedi are starting up again (or at least we assume that's what Luke will be doing) and what's the point of having lightsabers if there's no bad guys with their own lightsabers to fight?  I mean Star Wars just isn't Star Wars with at least one duel a movie.  The great thing is it's such a large universe so there're so many ways that the Sith could come back whether it's a lost apprentice, a Sith Lord who kept quiet the whole time, maybe someone stumbles upon a cache of Sith holocrons... the possibilities are endless in this universe.  Either way.... I'm excited.

Also, there's this. Enjoy.

Yoda Revealed to be Upcoming Star Wars Black Figure

A new 6" scale Star Wars Black Series figure was revealed on Star Wars Day via the official Star Wars Instagram.  He looks pretty accurate to the original movie version.  It's great that he comes with the lightsaber and the snake, but I wish he came with a bit more.  He's much smaller than the other characters so you don't feel like you're getting as much for your money.  He should at least come with a backpack the Luke can wear to carry him around in.  I'm still excited to get him, he is Yoda after all.

“In celebration of #StarWarsDay #Hasbro is excited to exclusively reveal the next figure in The Black Series 6-inch line, with the help of Tom Kane and his #BlackSeriesSelfie video!Don’t forget to post your own #BlackSeriesSelfie photos! #Yoda”

Disney May the 4th pin giveaway

Today is May 4th so obviously we need to celebrate in Star Wars fashion as the tag line for all Jedi is "May the force be with you" (May the 4th, get it people).

Anyway, the Disney store had a nice giveaway for all guests who are older than 3 so luckily I just made the age cutoff.

They gave away a small blowup light saber and a commerative pin to celebrate this fine day. - kevshiro

SDCC Exclusive Star Wars Black: Jabba the Hutt with Salacious Crumb

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at Hasbro's 2014 San Diego Comic Con exclusive The Black Series Jabba The Hutt with Salacious Crumb. It figure fits in with the 6" or 1/12 scale action figures.  Jabba will also be sold in stores but without the Salacious Crumb.   This figure will look great with the already released Slave Outfit Princess Leia.

The figures are packed in a display that recreates the villains throne room lair from Return of the Jedi, including space for last year’s Comic-Con exclusive toy, a Carbonite-frozen Han Solo.
Each year, Hasbro crafts a selection of toys that are exclusive to San Diego’s Comic-Con gathering. Some are later sold on HasbroToyShop.com, but it’s always a limited run. Good luck finding that Solo from last year.
The box also comes with a little Huttese: “Peecha wangee cogh pah. Tong nam nee took chan kee troi. Soo thawt du mah kee chalia.” That translates as: “I will not give up my favorite decoration. I like Captain Solo where he is.”
