Custom Action: Battle Damage Ninja Turtles

The first series of Nicktoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures was surprisingly good when it first came out. It was great to get entirely new and unique sculpts for each Turtle. There was much more detail than the later figures and the articulation was better than the rest of the line. Another big plus is that the figures are relatively inexpensiveness when compared to other toy lines so the prospect of buying duplicates to customize was much more cost effective.

Masters of the Universe Lego by Gregos Thomas

This is something that made the rounds on the internet a few months back, but somehow I missed it entirely.  When I came across one of these images yesterday I was completely floored by how completely awesome it is.  The idea of combining to of my favorite toy properties, Lego and Masters of the Universe, nearly made my mind explode. For those of you that haven't seen this before, don't get too excited.  This is not something that is really being made, {BOOO, HISSS} these are custom figures and illustrations made by artist Gregos Thomas. Simply an amazing job.

Custom Action: Battle Damage Savage Dragon UPDATED

UDATED: More pictures added.
Back in 2007, Marvel Toys made an action figure of one of my favorite comic characters, The Savage Dragon.  Right away I new I would have to pick up multiples of this figure.  I ended up buying about 4 or 5.  At first I just bought one with a tank top and one shirtless, but once these figures went on clearance I got a few more.  The question was, what was I going to do with all these figures?

Custom Action: AC Custom Figures

ACCustomFigures.com is a site that's been on my radar for a few years now.  AC is an amazing action figure customizer that makes wonderfully constructed and cleanly painted figures that fit perfectly into existing toy lines.  He makes Marvel Legend and DC Universe Classics figures that look better than what you'll find on toy shelves.  Luckily for us that don't have his talent, he takes commissions and occasionally sells customs on ebay.

About AC Custom Figures:
Hello true believers, this is AC! I am a huge comic book culture fan, and have been since I was a kid. A large part of my upbringing was centered around the 6 inch representations of the characters that we all came to know and love. However, as many of you will agree, as figures grew and evolved so did my desire to see my favorite characters in their different costumes, as well as some of those characters that never got a figure to begin with.
So I started making my own customs.
I started AC Custom Figures simply as a place to display my work, and then I realized not only how much I enjoyed my work, but others as well. So I figured what better than your own business doing something you love! And AC Custom Figures was born.
I work mostly in the 6″ scale (a few 3.75″), and I do everything from super heroes to movies, TV to video games, and even real people! I love working with Marvel Legends and DC Universe 6″, Neca, Figuarts, DBZ, and Star Wars, but feel free to inquire about anything!
I take commissions year round, so please feel free to contact me with any commissions and I will get back to you ASAP: accustomfigures at hotmail dot com

Custom Action: Star Wars Shadowtrooper

I knew as soon as a bought a few extra Star Wars Black Series Sandtroopers (at a great Amazon price of only $12 each) that I was going to have to make one of them into some sort of custom.  I figured the quickest and easy one would be one of my personal favorites, a Shadowtrooper.  Nothing too tricky here, I just washed the figure, painted the whole thing gloss black, and applied some silver to the helmet using a silver paint pen.  It was really quick to do and the results are great in person, but photographing black is still pretty tricky for me.

Shadowtroopers were a branch of Imperial shock troopers deployed during the Rise of the Empire era. Shadow Trooper units were deployed on various operations under the command of an Emperor's Shadow Guard. A number of them were used in various skirmishes against Galen Marek. Shadow Trooper armor was laced with durasteel fibers  unlike the stygian-triprismatic polymer material used in the production of the shadow stormtrooper armor.
